Musang Am - Hermitage of No Mark

Musang Am is a small temple of dhyana(from the sanskrit word 'meditation'; Soen in Korean, Ch'an in Chinese and Zen in Japanese) meditation and Buddhist studies, situated in a beautiful place on the Eastern Riviera, a few km from the "Gulf of Poets" and ten km from La Spezia town.

The abbot Tae Hye sunim (Pali name: Mahapanna bhikkhu) has received both Theravada and Korean Mahayana monk ordinations. The vice abbot is Tae Ri sunim. Tae Hye sunim and Tae Ri sunim are disciples of Ilgak sunim, meditation master of Songgwangsa Monastery. Musang Am has spiritual connections with Korean Buddhist Chogye Order, Chinese Buddhism in Taiwan and Theravada school.

Musang Am is the headquarter of the association "Comunità Bodhidharma". Comunità Bodhidharma is a member of Italian Buddhist Union, which is recognized by the State as the representative of 40 centers and groups belonging to various Buddhist traditions.

The guests should follow the five precepts of mindfulness and eat only vegetarian food.

The daily program generally consists of sitting and walking meditations, working meditation, studies, silent meals and recitation ceremonies.
